Eric Tucker, Ph.D., serves as the Director of Consulting and Associate Professor of Management at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Commissioner Tucker is a proven team player who is a goal-driven leader and experienced problem solver who focuses on data-driven decision-making for continuous improvement. In addition, he is experienced in human resources, scheduling, training, budgeting and operational execution.

Commissioner Tucker has taught at USAFA from 2004 to 2006, 2010 to 2013, 2014 to 2015 and 2017 to the present. He also taught at the University of Denver from 2015 to 2017. In his teaching, he challenges his students to use the tools and techniques to solve ill-defined problems. In addition, he incorporates real-world illustrations to demonstrate that operations management, project management and various analytic methods are applicable across many domains.

Commissioner Tucker focuses on improving Knowledge Management and Knowledge Management Systems in his research. He has published several academic articles, earned many grants and fellowships and presented at more than a dozen conferences.

Commissioner Tucker earned a bachelor’s of science in aeronautical engineering from USAFA, a master’s in science in engineering and technology management from Oklahoma State University, a master’s in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College in Newport and Rhode Island, and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the University of Central Florida. Commissioner Tucker was appointed by Gov. Jared Polis in July 2019 to serve through July 1, 2023, as an unaffiliated resident from the 5th Congressional District.
